Showcases and exhibit elements for the German Clock Museum at Glashütte

Uhrenmuseum GlashütteUhrenmuseum GlashütteThe "Deutsche Uhrenmuseum Glashütte" was opened on 22 May, 2008. It sends visitors on a trip in time to the beginnings of clock and watch manufacture in Saxony in 1845 and back to the present time.

In accordance with the aims of the foundation "Deutsches Uhrenmuseum Glashütte – Nicolas G. Hayek“, Glashütte Original has developed an exhibition course providing info about the changing course of history at Glashütte just as much as aspects of sensing and measuring time. This project was made possible with the support of the Swatch Group AG and the town of Glashütte.

On two levels and approx. 1000 m² of exhibit space, over 400 unique pieces are presented: Glashütte-made pocket and wrist watches as well as pendulum clocks from different eras, marine chronometers and working models, historic documents and patents, tools and workbenches as well as astronomic models and metronomes are staged in style.

The exhibit was designed by Atelier Brückner.

KnaufKassel supplied approx. 80 showcases and other exhibit elements. According to the themes, a variety of interior components were implemented, ranging from smal wall cases to table cases and cabinet cases, and including a panorama case filling an entire room. Beyond this, KnaufKassel manufactured furniture elements, presentation pedestals, lighting boxes with LED illumination, a revolving projection table and an activity "treasure room" with metal walls.
